Clown Rounds
Mission/Program Description:
We will bring a
measure of happiness and cheer to all those we visit in nursing
homes, assisted living, hospitals, and health care facilities. To
quote from the clown prayer “Help me to create more smiles than
tears, disperse more happiness than gloom. Spread more joy than
despair… It is my joy (and mission) to cheer people up, make them
know they are loved and to forget momentarily all the unpleasant
things in their lives”.
Certainly when a
Care-Clown visits with the sick and vulnerable in hospitals and the
elderly in nursing homes and senior centers, you will notice the
difference a clown makes in a person’s attitude before and after the
visit.
We strongly believe
that “laughter is the best medicine”.
Available
Assignments:
Visits to nursing
homes, assisted living, hospital, health care facilities. Short
visits will be scheduled according to your availability. We do
require a long term commitment, since you will fall in love with
this mission.
Volunteer
Requirements:

Kindness, Humor,
Patience

Nominal membership
fee may be required to support the program.

Time to train and
resources to develop your clown character and costume.

transportation
