Mission/Program Description:
The Lycoming County
Mentoring Program will provide one-on-one guidance for adolescents
and young adults within Lycoming County who are at risk from drug
and alcohol abuse
Program Goals:
Identify and enhance strengths; Provide nurturing relationships;
Encourage and inspire; Bolster self-esteem; Increase accountability
and responsibility; Ensure confidentiality and equality; Identify
barriers and develop a plan of action; Establish short-term and
long-term career goals for employment.

County Juvenile Drug Treatment Court

Districts in Lycoming County through the Student Assistance
Program

The Lycoming
County Prison

The Lycoming
County Pre-Release Center
Volunteer
Requirements:
- Mentors are required to
participate in a formal interview, assessment, and screening
process
- Mentors are required to
provide references and background checks
- Mentors will
participate in a match interview with their prospective mentee
- No felony convictions
- Abstinence from all
mood-altering substances
Application
Process:
- Contact West Branch
Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission at (570) 321-8599, and request
to participate in the Lycoming County Mentoring Program
- Participate in a formal
interview, including assessment and screening process
- Provide three
references
- Complete and submit to
the West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission a
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance application
- Request for Pennsylvania State
Police PATCH Response for Criminal Record Check
