YWCA Warm Water Pool was formerly known as Health Promotion Services. The funds provided by Lycoming County United Way are utilized only for the Warm Water Pool. The YWCA pool provides unduplicated warm water therapeutic exercise service to the community. This is especially useful to people of all ages with pain and range of motion issues. The water provides buoyancy and allows for physical activity many cannot accomplish on land. This program meets the community needs of healthcare, children and youth, and services for the disabled. With warm water exercise programs, participants do not need to spend as much on prescription drugs. Children utilizing our pool for our Squeaky Hinges program suffer from disabilities which include spina bifida, autism, brain tumors, and cerebral palsy. The YWCA pool locker room, pool, and the general facility are handicapped accessible. In recent years, the YWCA warm water pool has added a wheelchair ramp to the pool area as well as upgrades to the general facility. Programming is constantly reevaluated by committee members and volunteers to identify new programming opportunities for our clients. For more information:
