Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania
Youth Development Program

Positive Youth Development is the focus of the Girl Scout program. Hemlock Girl Scout Council offers organized activities for girls through the following program components:  Daisy Girl Scout (Kindergarten); Brownie Girl Scout (1st through 3rd grades); Junior Girl Scout (4th through 6th grades); Cadette Girl Scout (7th through 9th grades); and Senior Girl Scout (10th through 12th grades).  Girls ages 5 to 17 participate in activities designed to develop skills and leadership, self-awareness, environmental (nature, community, etc.) awareness, introduction to career activities, participation in community service, the arts, and out-of-doors; and education in contemporary social issues.  Camping opportunities (troop, resident, and day) are also available.  The council collaborates in some 800 organizations, schools and community groups throughout the mid- state. Many Lycoming County schools and churches serve as sites for troop meetings and events.
